01 / At a glance

Before you decide.

Choose Inlockly if…

  • You want to start for free - no trial period and no credit card.
  • You want to pay less for the same core features, on a personal or family plan.
  • You want your own recovery key in case you forget your master password.
  • You're looking for 2FA codes, SafetyMeter™, and link sharing in one simple plan.

What Inlockly doesn't have yet

  • Passkey storage.
  • A Travel Mode that hides selected vaults while you cross a border.
  • Developer tools, such as a CLI or an SSH agent.
  • File storage - coming soon.

02 / Key differences

What you get with Inlockly.

  • A free plan with no time limit.

1Password only offers a 14-day trial. The Inlockly Free plan includes unlimited passwords, the generator, autofill, and import - for good.

  • About half the price.

The Inlockly Personal plan costs $2.09 a month billed yearly, compared with $3.99 for 1Password. The Family plan is $3.29 versus $5.99 - for the same 5 people.

  • A recovery key on every plan.

A forgotten master password doesn't have to mean lost data. The key you create at sign-up lets you recover your private vault - no admin needed.

  • The same class of encryption.

Both encrypt your data on your device (AES-256-GCM) using a zero-knowledge model. Inlockly's architecture is described in our public Security Whitepaper.

    Cryptographic parameters
  • SafetyMeter™ and breach alerts.

One security score for your vault: weak, old, and reused passwords plus breach alerts. The counterpart to 1Password's Watchtower.

  • Data stored in the EU.

Inlockly keeps your encrypted vault on servers in the European Union, under GDPR - and thanks to zero-knowledge, nobody at Inlockly can read it.

04 / Making the switch

Switch from 1Password in three steps.

  1. Export your data from 1Password.

In the 1Password desktop app, choose to export your account and save the CSV file. Export isn't available in the mobile app.

  2. Import it into Inlockly.

Open import in the Inlockly app and select the file. Your data is encrypted on your device before it reaches the cloud.

  3. Delete the file and install the apps.

The export file isn't encrypted - delete it after importing. Then install Inlockly on your phone and in your browser.

Import is available on every plan, including Free. Import guide ↗
