01 / The challenge

"Can you send me the password?"
- five times a day.

On a small team, everyone does a bit of everything, so everyone needs access to everything. Passwords float around in chats, and the 2FA code goes to one person's phone.

  • Passwords in messages.

Sent once, they stay in the chat history forever - along with everyone who has access to that conversation.

  • The 2FA code is on one phone.

The account is secured, but the code only goes to one phone. When that person is off, the team is stuck.

  • A password change ruins the day.

Someone changed a password and didn't tell anyone. Half the team can't sign in, and nobody knows the new one.

02 / How Inlockly helps

Everyone has access.
Nobody has to ask.

Shared folders

One folder for each area of work.

Gather accounts in folders - Sales, Marketing, Shipping - and decide who can access them. When one person changes a password, everyone gets it instantly.

  • Unlimited folders on the Team plan.
  • Permissions set for each person individually.
  • Every member's private vault sits next to the team's data.

2FA codes in items

A code for the whole team, not for one phone.

Save the 2FA key in a shared item. Anyone with access can generate the current code - and Inlockly fills it in along with the username and password.

  • TOTP codes generated on each team member's device.
  • Autofill for username, password, and code on the right site.
  • The account stays protected by a second factor.

03 / A real-world scenario

A small team,
big-time organized.

Sample scenario

Kate Miller

Online store owner

Organic food store · Portland, OR

  • 7 people
  • about 60 accounts
  • 3 areas of work
The challenge

The 2FA code for the marketplace account only went to her phone. When she was on vacation, customer service couldn't reply to buyers' messages.

Before

  • Passwords sent in the team chat and saved in notes.
  • 2FA codes only on the owner's phone.
  • After a password change, half the team loses access.
  • A new hire gets access over several days, "whenever someone has a minute."

With Inlockly

  • Accounts in three folders with permissions for each person.
  • Anyone with access to the item can generate the 2FA code.
  • Everyone authorized sees a new password right away.
  • A new hire has access within minutes of accepting the invitation.

The person and company are fictional. The scenario shows a typical rollout and Inlockly features that are available today.

05 / Good to know

Have questions?
Start here.

How many people does the Team plan cover?

5 to 10 paid seats. If your team grows, you can move to the Business plan - with no seat limit and with departments.

Can a team member sign in without knowing the password?

Yes. Turn off password viewing and copying in the folder - the person signs in with autofill, but can't see the password or pass it on.

Can my team see my private passwords?

No. Every member has a private vault with Personal plan features, kept separate from team data. Others only see what goes into shared folders.

Which devices does Inlockly work on?

Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android, plus extensions for popular browsers. Business plans come with unlimited devices.
