01 / At a glance

Before you decide.

Choose Inlockly if…

  • You want a fresh start with a password manager whose architecture is documented in a public Security Whitepaper.
  • You use both a computer and a phone, and free LastPass limits you to one of them.
  • You want to share a password with someone who doesn't use a password manager.
  • You want 2FA codes in the same vault as your passwords.

What Inlockly doesn't have yet

  • Passkey storage.
  • Vault access for a trusted contact (for example, in case of death) - instead, a recovery key and a family or company admin.
  • Signing in to a business account with SSO.

02 / Key differences

Why it's worth moving your passwords.

  • A breach that's still causing damage.

In 2022, customers' encrypted vaults were copied from LastPass's cloud. According to TRM Labs, weaker master passwords were still being cracked and cryptocurrency stolen in 2025.

  • Free on your computer and phone.

Free LastPass works on one device type. The Inlockly Free plan covers one device, and Personal covers all of them - with no device-type restrictions.

  • Share with anyone.

LastPass only shares with other LastPass users. Inlockly sends an encrypted link that expires on its own - the recipient doesn't need an account.

  • Modern cryptography.

AES-256-GCM, which detects any tampering with your data, and Argon2id, which makes large-scale guessing of your master password on graphics cards much harder.

  • 2FA codes in your vault.

LastPass keeps one-time codes in a separate Authenticator app. In Inlockly, they sit right in the item and fill in along with your password.

  • SafetyMeter™.

After you switch, see which passwords to change first - especially the ones stored in your old vault.

04 / Making the switch

Switch from LastPass in three steps.

  1. Export your data from LastPass.

In the LastPass extension or vault, choose Advanced Options → Export and save the CSV file.

  2. Import it into Inlockly.

Open import in the Inlockly app and select the file. Your data is encrypted on your device before it reaches the cloud.

  3. Change your most important passwords.

Delete the export file. If your vault existed in 2022, change the passwords for your email, bank, and crypto wallets - SafetyMeter™ helps you decide the order.

Import is available on every plan, including Free. Import guide ↗

05 / Good to know

Questions about switching from LastPass.

Do I need to change my passwords after the 2022 breach?

The copied vaults were encrypted, but attackers can try to crack them with no time limit - especially those protected by a weaker master password. If you used LastPass in 2022, it's worth changing your most important passwords and moving especially sensitive data (such as wallet recovery phrases) somewhere new.

Is Inlockly cheaper than LastPass?

Yes. Billed yearly, the Inlockly Personal plan is $2.09 a month, compared with about $3 for LastPass Premium, and the Family plan is $3.29 a month, compared with about $4 for LastPass Families. Prices exclude any applicable taxes.

How is the Inlockly Free plan different from free LastPass?

Free LastPass only works on one device type - computer or phone. The Inlockly Free plan covers one device with unlimited passwords, the generator, autofill, import, and a recovery key. The Personal plan removes the device limit.

How do I move my passwords from LastPass to Inlockly?

Export your data from LastPass to a CSV file (Advanced Options → Export), then import the file in the Inlockly app. Import is available on every plan. Delete the export file when you're done.
