Feature · 2FA codes

Two-step sign-in.
Without reaching for your phone.

Save the 2FA key with your login, and Inlockly generates the one-time code and fills it in after your password - in your browser, on your phone, and in apps. Second-factor protection without retyping six digits.

Available on: Personal, Family, Team, Business.

01 / How it works

Set up 2FA in a minute.

  1. Turn on 2FA for the service.

The service shows a QR code or a text key. SafetyMeter™ tells you which of your services are worth securing this way.

  2. Scan the QR code.

With your phone camera, your laptop webcam, from an image, or a pasted screenshot. The extension detects the 2FA setup on the page by itself and offers to save it.

  3. Sign in as usual.

After your password, Inlockly fills in the code field or copies the code to your clipboard - just paste it.

02 / Capabilities

A second factor that doesn't slow you down.

  • The code right next to your login.

In the item details, you see the current code and how long until it changes. One click copies it to your clipboard.

  • Fills in the code field.

The extension recognizes code fields - including a row of single-digit boxes - and enters the code with one click.

  • On your phone, too.

System autofill on iOS and Android suggests 2FA codes in apps and in the browser.

  • Bring codes over from another app.

Export from Google Authenticator, Aegis, 2FAS, Ente Auth, or a list of otpauth:// URIs. Inlockly matches the codes to your saved logins automatically.

  • Tips on where to turn on 2FA.

A directory of over 1,600 services that support 2FA codes, with setup instructions. SafetyMeter™ points out the accounts that are missing them.

  • Shared accounts with 2FA.

A company account with 2FA doesn't have to be tied to one person's phone. The code lives in the company folder - with the same permissions as the password.

03 / Security

Convenience, done thoughtfully.

A 2FA key is a secret just as valuable as a password. That's why it's encrypted the same way and never leaves the vault unless it has to.

  • The key is encrypted like a password.

The 2FA key is part of the encrypted item. Codes are calculated on your device.

  • Only the code reaches the page.

The extension keeps the key in its background process. Only the finished code goes into the form - and only after you click.

  • Your Inlockly key stays outside Inlockly.

The app won't accept the 2FA key for your own Inlockly account. The second factor for your vault has to live outside the vault.

04 / Who it's for

Fewer obstacles, the same protection.

For you and your family

No hunting for your phone at every sign-in.

Email, banking, social media - the code is right where the password is. Your phone can stay in the other room.

05 / Good to know

Have questions?
Start here.

Is it safe to keep 2FA codes together with passwords?

It's a deliberate trade-off. Codes in your vault protect you if a password leaks and are always at hand, but someone with access to your unlocked vault has both factors. For your most important accounts - like email and banking - you can keep 2FA separate and mark that in the item.

How do I move my codes from Google Authenticator?

Export your accounts in Google Authenticator (the export QR code), then scan it in the "Move 2FA codes" wizard in Inlockly settings. The app matches the codes to your logins and asks you to confirm.

Which plan includes 2FA codes?

The Personal plan and up - including Family, Team, and Business. On the Free plan, 2FA keys saved in items are kept safe, and the codes appear once you upgrade to a paid plan.

How do I secure sign-in to Inlockly itself?

Turn on two-step sign-in for your account - with an email code, an authenticator app, or a YubiKey. See Account protection for details.
