01 / How it works

Set once, always up to date.

  1. Create departments.

For example, Sales, IT, or Leadership. In each department, you choose members and managers.

  2. Assign folders.

The department gets access to its folders with specific permissions - from view-only to managing the folder.

  3. Manage people, not exceptions.

Joining a department grants access; leaving it takes access away. No manually fixing permissions in every folder.

02 / Capabilities

Control without the red tape.

  • Departments in your company.

Mirror your organization's structure and grant permissions to entire teams (Business plan).

  • Folder permissions.

13 permissions per folder - from viewing, through password viewing and export, to managing the folder - for a department or a single person.

  • Admin permissions.

Who creates folders and departments, invites and removes people, changes settings, or manages billing - you grant each of the 13 permissions separately.

  • Never more than you have.

Admins can only grant permissions they have themselves. Nobody can give themselves or others more than they were entrusted with.

  • New member approval.

Someone who accepts an invitation joins only after an admin approves them. An invitation link that ends up in the wrong hands isn't enough.

  • Access recovery.

When a team member forgets their master password, an admin can restore their access to company data. A private vault can only be recovered with its recovery key.

03 / Security

Boundaries enforced on the server.

Permissions aren't just hidden buttons in the app. The server checks every operation, and every change is logged.

  • The server sets the boundaries.

The company, folder, and department are determined from the operation itself. A permission in one company can't be used to change another company's data.

  • Keys passed on encrypted.

Joining a company means receiving its vault key, encrypted with the new member's public key.

  • Every change in the log.

Granting and revoking permissions, department changes, and member approvals all go into the company's activity history.

05 / Good to know

Have questions?
Start here.

How do permissions differ between the Team and Business plans?

On both plans, you can set folder and admin permissions for individual people. The Business plan adds departments, so you can grant permissions to entire groups at once.

Can I let someone use a password without seeing it?

Yes. Turn off the password viewing and copying permission in the folder. The person signs in with autofill, but can't see, copy, or share the password in a link.

What if an employee forgets their master password?

An admin with the right permission can restore their access to company data. No one but them can access their private vault - they can only recover it with their own recovery key.

Do department managers automatically get full permissions?

No. What each person can do depends on the permissions they're granted. Department roles organize the structure; permissions set the access boundaries.
