Feature · SafetyMeter™

Know which passwords
need attention.

SafetyMeter™ checks every password in your vault: its strength, whether it's reused, and whether it appears on a list of known breaches. The entire analysis happens on your device.

Available on: Personal, Family, Team, Business.

01 / How it works

From rating to fixed in a few minutes.

  1. Open SafetyMeter™.

The rating updates in the background after every change to your vault. You see the number of issues right next to it in the menu.

  2. See what to fix.

Tiles show very weak and weak passwords, reused ones, breached ones, and sites without an encrypted connection.

  3. Fix it on the site.

Each tile leads to a list of items. Change the password to a new one from the generator - the rating updates on its own.

02 / For business

Your whole organization in one rating.

On the Team and Business plans, SafetyMeter™ sums up password health across the company - for each person and each department. You know where to start before a weak password turns into an incident.

  • A list of people with their number of passwords and how many are weak or reused.
  • A department summary that shows which team needs support (Business plan).
  • The average password strength across your organization on a single bar.
  • Filter by issue type - narrow the list to weak or reused passwords in one click.

03 / Capabilities

Six signals, one picture.

  • The strength of every password.

A rating on four levels, from very weak to strong. The algorithm recognizes words, dates, keyboard sequences, and common patterns.

  • Reused passwords.

One password for several accounts is the most common way in for attackers. SafetyMeter™ shows you where it's repeated.

  • Passwords from known breaches.

Every password is checked against a list of about 100,000 passwords from public breaches - the ones attackers try first.

  • Sites without encryption.

Items with an http:// address instead of https:// - signing in on a site like that can be intercepted.

  • Where to turn on 2FA.

SafetyMeter™ tells you which of your services support 2FA codes and shows you how to turn them on. Already have 2FA in another app? Mark it with one click.

  • Private and shared vaults.

The rating covers every enabled vault you have access to - private, family, and company.

04 / Security

Analysis without sending your passwords anywhere.

Many services check passwords by sending them (or their hashes) to outside servers. SafetyMeter™ does everything on your device.

  • The breach list lives on your device.

The list of breached passwords and the directory of services with 2FA are downloaded to the app. The passwords and addresses in your vault never leave your device.

  • Results stay in memory.

The rating and item flags are never saved or synced - they're calculated on the fly after you unlock your vault.

  • Zero-knowledge, no exceptions.

Even analysis features run on your side. The Inlockly server only ever stores encrypted data.

05 / Who it's for

Password hygiene without the effort.

For you and your family

Peace of mind that nothing slipped through.

After you import passwords from your browser, SafetyMeter™ shows which ones to change first - usually the ones you've reused for years.

Inlockly for you

For teams and businesses

A weak password is a risk for the whole company.

Team members also see the rating for the shared folders they can access, so they can act before a password becomes a problem.

06 / Good to know

Have questions?
Start here.

Does SafetyMeter™ check whether my email address was leaked?

No. SafetyMeter™ checks the passwords saved in your vault - whether they're weak, reused, or known from public breaches. It doesn't monitor email addresses or accounts online.

Are my passwords sent anywhere to be checked?

No. Strength rating, breach list matching, and reuse detection all happen on your device. The result isn't even saved - it's calculated on the fly.

Which plan includes SafetyMeter™?

The Personal plan and up - including Family, Team, and Business. The generator and the strength meter for a single password are available on every plan.

I already use 2FA in another app, but SafetyMeter™ still suggests it. What should I do?

In the item details, choose "I already use 2FA another way." SafetyMeter™ will stop suggesting that service, and you can undo it at any time.
