Open the generator.
From the app menu, or with the button next to the password field when you add or edit an item.
Fine-tune the password.
Set the length with the slider and turn on uppercase letters, numbers, or special characters. The meter shows the password's strength right away.
Use it and forget it.
Copy the password or insert it straight into the item. The only password you need to remember is your master password - autofill takes care of the rest.

Your password is created on your device.
The generator doesn't use any outside service. A new password exists only on your device until you save it in an encrypted item.
Never sent over the network.
Generation happens locally. A password reaches the cloud only as part of an encrypted vault item.
Every character has an equal chance.
Generation without statistical bias: no character shows up more often than others, and the order of characters is shuffled as well.
The clipboard clears itself.
A copied password doesn't stay in your clipboard forever - Inlockly limits how long it remains available there.

How long should a password be?
We recommend at least 14 characters - the generator's default - with uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Every extra character increases the time needed to crack it.
Is the generator available on the Free plan?
Yes. The password generator is included on every Inlockly plan, including Free.
Can I use the generator when creating an account on a website?
Yes. Open the generator in the app or in the browser extension popup, copy the password, and paste it into the form. After you sign up, Inlockly offers to save the account.
I have old, weak passwords. What now?
SafetyMeter™ points out weak, reused, and breached passwords. Change them on each site to new ones from the generator - your vault rating updates on its own.
